EMDR consultation focuses on the mastery and integration of Standard EMDR Therapy into clinical practice. The consultation process supports therapists in refining their skills while maintaining professional independence and ethical responsibility within their scope of licensure. The purpose of consultation is to provide:
Professional guidance
Constructive feedback
Evaluation of EMDR protocol implementation
Important: Consultation is not supervision.
The consultee maintains full responsibility for client care and clinical decisions. The consultant’s role is to evaluate and support the implementation of the Standard EMDR Therapy Eight-Phase Protocol and Three-Pronged Approach, not to direct treatment.

EMDR trainees are required to complete 10 hours of consultation with an EMDRIA-Approved Consultant or Consultant in Training.
Structure
Recommended: 4 hours to be completed before day 4 of the training
Remaining hours completed after day 6
May be completed in group format (maximum 10 consultees)
Conducted via teleconference
EMDRIA Requirement
Per EMDRIA policy:
Trainees have ONE YEAR from the start of Day 1 to complete all consultation hours.
Consultation must be completed before receiving the EMDR Basic Training Certificate.
After completing the 10 required hours:
Documentation must be submitted
A Certificate of Completion will be issued

Dr. Shaima Al-Fardan, PsyD

EMDR Certified Therapist, EMDRIA Approved Consultant, EMDR Trainer
Dr. Shaima Al-Fardan is a Clinical Psychologist with over 15 years of experience and extensive expertise in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). Trained in EMDR Parts 1, 2, and 3 in 2009–2010 (accredited by EMDR Europe and the UK & Ireland EMDR Association), she has been integrating EMDR into her trauma-focused clinical work for more than a decade.
Dr. Al-Fardan serves as Faculty with the Institute for Creative Mindfulness (USA), where she trains mental health professionals in EMDR therapy and provides consultation to clinicians using EMDR to treat trauma and other mental health conditions. Her work reflects a strong commitment to maintaining fidelity to the standard EMDR eight-phase protocol while adapting treatment thoughtfully to complex clinical presentations.
Clinically, she currently practices at Mubadala Health Dubai, where she is developing adult psychotherapy services and offering consultation to medical and mental health professionals. Previously, she held leadership roles as Head of Psychology at Camali Clinic (Dubai Healthcare City) and at the Behavioral Science Pavilion at Sheikh Khalifa Medical City in Abu Dhabi. Across these roles, she has provided EMDR-informed treatment to individuals, couples, and families, supervised psychologists, and led professional development initiatives.
Dr. Al-Fardan earned her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (PsyD) and Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology at Alliant International University, and a Master’s degree in Mental Health Studies from King’s College London. Her clinical foundation spans hospital, community mental health, addiction services, and medical settings in the UAE, UK, and USA.
Her EMDR work is particularly informed by advanced training in complex trauma, dissociation, DBT, ACT, and relational approaches. She is dedicated to helping clients process traumatic experiences safely and effectively while supporting clinicians in building competence and confidence in EMDR practice.
Nazli H. Alansari, MB, BCh, BAO, MA

EMDR Certified Therapist, EMDRIA Approved Consultant in Training
Nazli H. Alansari is an EMDRIA-Certified EMDR Therapist with a strong foundation in systemic family therapy and over two decades of diverse clinical and medical experience. She holds a Master of Mental Health (Family Therapy) from the University of Queensland and integrates trauma-focused, attachment-informed, and systemic approaches in her work with individuals, couples, and families.
Nazli became certified through the EMDR International Association (EMDRIA) in 2023 and utilizes the standard EMDR eight-phase protocol and three-pronged approach in her clinical practice. Her EMDR work is grounded in a deep understanding of trauma, complex family systems, and developmental experiences. She supports clients presenting with trauma, relational difficulties, stress-related disorders, and complex emotional challenges.
Her early clinical training in Australia included work with children and adolescents in protective care through Evolve Therapeutic Services, as well as systemic and narrative therapy practice at Relationships Australia Queensland. These experiences strengthened her trauma-informed lens and continue to inform her EMDR case conceptualization today.
Nazli currently practices at Ibn Al Nafees Hospital in Bahrain, where she offers psychotherapy and counselling services using an integrative, trauma-focused framework with a strong systemic orientation. Her background as a medical doctor further enriches her clinical perspective, allowing her to approach psychological healing with both medical insight and therapeutic depth.
Nazli brings warmth, cultural sensitivity, and clinical integrity to her EMDR practice, creating a safe and attuned space for clients to process and heal.
Mohammad Ibrahim Fadlallah, MSc

EMDRIA Certified Therapist; EMDRIA Approved Consultant

Mohammad Ibrahim Fadlallah is a Lebanese Clinical Psychologist specializing in trauma treatment and EMDR therapy. He holds a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from the Lebanese University and is currently in the process of completing his Doctorate (PhD) in Clinical Psychology. In addition to his clinical psychology training, he also holds academic qualifications in administration and management, supporting his leadership roles within the mental health field.
In his role as an EMDRIA-Approved Consultant, Mohammed assists mental health clinicians by providing professional guidance and consultation using EMDR therapy as a modality. His clinical work follows the standard EMDR eight-phase protocol and integrates advanced trauma-informed approaches, including the AIR Network model for the treatment of complex trauma and dissociation. His EMDR practice is characterized by clinical precision, trauma-informed care, and a strong commitment to advancing EMDR standards in Lebanon and the region.
With clinical experience since 2017, Mohammed provides psychotherapy in private practice and specialized mental health centers across Lebanon. He is the Founder and Director of Al Akhdar Center for Mental and Psychological Health in Beirut and the Nabatieh Specialized Center for Mental Health in South Lebanon. His work includes trauma treatment, addiction recovery support, psychological first aid, and community mental health interventions.
He has worked with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) supporting families of missing persons and coordinated psychological support teams in South Lebanon during the COVID-19 pandemic (2020–2022). He has also been actively involved in addiction prevention and recovery programs in collaboration with healthcare organizations.
Mohammad is a licensed clinical psychologist through the Lebanese Ministry of Public Health and an active member of the Lebanese Psychologists’ Association, serving on the Media and Public Relations Committee. In addition to his clinical practice, he provides lectures, workshops, and academic training for psychology students at the Lebanese University and the Islamic University.
